Comedian Seann Walsh will be buying every ticket-holder a drink at the Hertford Theatre this Saturday. This follows his mix-up last September when he had to postpone his gig at the venue because he went to Hereford by mistake.
In his apology Walsh offered to buy each audience member a drink at the rescheduled date - a promise which he will be honouring this Saturday evening when he finally performs at the correct location to a sold-out crowd of 400 fans.
Walsh is following in something of a comedy tradition started by Jason Manford, who last March footed a bill of £3,532.40 at the Lincoln Engine Shed when he was delayed. John Bishop has also stumped up nearly £1000 when he kept his Northampton audience waiting in June and in December Jimmy Carr forked out £4000 when the train he was travelling on broke down on the way to a gig at King George's Hall in Blackburn.
Seann Walsh is currently on tour as well as returning as team captain in E4 quiz show Virtually Famous. Tour dates here.
