Katie Hopkins is to appear at the Edinburgh Fringe to take Dr Philip 'Dr Death' Nitschke's euthanasia machine for a test drive.
In July Hopkins advocated the introduction of euthanasia vans to deal with the problem of ‘too many old people’.
Hopkins will be having a go on Dr Death’s Destiny Euthanasia Machine, which delivers 100% pure nitrogen. She will be encouraged to press the ‘Yes' button to the question 'Do you want to die?'
Speaking from Edinburgh, Dr Nitschke (aka Dr Death) said 'It will be fascinating to see how Ms Hopkins reacts to Destiny. People using the machine usually experience some anxiety as they watch their heart rate increase and there is usually some hyperventilation and associated tachycardia'.
'I would imagine that Katie is well used to the stress of performing, but will she keep control of her senses’ he wondered.
Dr Nitschke said a full risk assessment had been required before the producers of the TLC TV programme If Katie Ruled the World would approve the machine for use by its star.
'Dicing with Dr Death' is performed nightly at 6.10pm at Just The Tonic @ the Caves. Tickets here.
Katie Hopkins' team will film the performance on Tuesday, 25 August and speak to the audience afterwards.
