Josh Widdicombe was forced to cancel the opening night of his 'What Do I Do Now...' tour last night after a powercut hit the Playhouse Theatre in Oxford.
The comedian took to Twitter to apologise to fans who had turned up at the venue and thanked them for their patience during the evening. In his apology, Josh offered to buy all audience members still at the venue a drink at the bar as a thank you for coming down and promised that the re-scheduled date would be announced as soon as possible.
The comedian said "My view on a tour is don't peak too early and I am pretty sure we have managed to avoid that on this one. I don't want to set my sights too high but if we can achieve light and amplification in Wimborne tonight then it is a real step in the right direction".
Due to last night's power cut the Oxford show has now been rescheduled to Friday 22nd January. All ticket holders will be contacted in due course. Full refunds will also be provided if audience members are unable to make the new date.
The tour continues at Wimborne's Tivoli Theatre this evening (10th September) with dates running through to December. Widdicombe will also be returning to Channel 4's The Last Leg for a Stand Up 2 Cancer special this autumn with a new series returning in 2016.
