6. What do your parents think of your job?
My parents would have liked me to be a Chartered Accountant. In their mind that would have been normal - Show business is several steps out of normal for them - So I think they're confused by it and even mystified I have chosen something so random.
7. What’s the worst thing about being a comedian?
Not knowing what's round the corner - ie in 6 weeks time.
8. I think you are very good at what you do. What do you think of you?
I don't tend to think a great deal of myself - I suppose every comedian is missing something - otherwise they wouldn't be looking for the constant approval of a crowd of strangers.
9. How much do you earn and how much would you like to earn?
I earn very little in the real world right now - I left my day job last year - so I am learning to live off comedy money. I'd settle in a couple of years time to earn the same as I was earning with work and comedy (circa £40k - that doesn't seem likely though right now).
10. How important is luck in terms of career success – have you had lucky breaks?
I think it’s a combination of things - I read somewhere that everyone gets a chance, it’s whether you have the skills to take advantage of it when that chance comes. So I'm a big believer you make your own luck in some way. I tend to follow the principle that at some point something’s got to give!!!
I've had many lucky breaks and people who've believed in me over the last 10 years - but in my mind you're only as good as your next gig!!!
11. Alan Davies has said that comedians fall into two categories - golfers and self-harmers. The former just get on with life, the latter are tortured artists. Which are you – or do you think you fit into a third category?
I probably fall more into the "Golfer" than "Tortured Artist" category. Although out of preference I would like to be more of a tortured artist if I can psyche myself up somehow.
12. Who is your favourite person ever and why – not including family or friends or other comedians?
George Harrison is my favourite person ever - mainly because of his mad 70s hippy ways - the whole eastern mysticism thing - combined with rock and roll excess. Anyway he's an acquired taste - and definitely the best Beatle.
13. Do you keep your drawers tidy and if not why not?
Sadly I tend to be too lazy to put any of my clothes in my drawers (even though I have plenty of drawers). It’s a lifestyle choice.
