News: Sick Comedy? Comedians Talk About Their Health

Comedian and NHS junior doctor Ed Patrick is to be joined by two different Edinburgh Fringe performers every day of his run to discuss their real-life health stories in the Comedians’ Surgery.

Joe Lycett, Tony Law, Dane Baptiste, Stuart Goldsmith, Carl Donnelly, Tez Ilyas, Phil Wang and Angela Barnes are just some of the acts lined up to share their medical histories in the new Fringe show where bedside manner is all important, and nothing is out of bounds. Details of each day’s guests can be found at https://www.facebook.com/comedianssurgery/.

Comedians’ Surgery promises to take on everything from Asthma to STIs. Each show combines guest stories with Ed’s insights from the frontline of the NHS - putting individual experiences in wider context and exploring some of the biggest issues in modern healthcare, from the unusual to the everyday.

This is Ed Patrick’s second show at the Edinburgh Fringe. Patrick works as a junior doctor, was nominated for Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year 2016 and contributes to The Guardian - writing about the intersection between humour and health.

Ed Patrick: Comedians' Surgery is at Just The Tonic at the Cave from August 3 - 26. Tickets here.
