Simon Munnery has come up with more original comedy ideas than most comedians have had punchlines. Alan Parker Urban Warrior. League Against Tedium. Cluub Zarathustra. And most recently his Fylm concept, in which he does stand-up gigs while sitting in the audience. This year he is taking Simon Munnery Sings Soren Kierkegaard to the Fringe. It sounds a little like a cross between Arthur Smith Sings Leonard Cohen and Python's Philosopher’s Song, but given that this is Simon Munnery, maverick extraordinaire, I doubt if it will have any connection with either of those projects. The blurb simply says that Munnery will be performing the works of Kierkegaard. Intrigued? Well, one thing is for sure. It’s certainly not Micky Flanagan. Simon Munnery is at the Museum of Comedy tonight (Tuesday).
Simon Munnery is at The Stand from July 30 - August 25. Tickets here.
