The nominations for the King or Queen of Comedy at the British Comedy Awards have been announced today. They are last year's King Jack Whitehall, 2011’s Queen of Comedy, Sarah Millican, David Mitchell, Alan Carr, Graham Norton and Lee Mack.
This is the only British Comedy Award that can be voted for by the public. Phone lines open at 11am, today and the winner will be revealed live on the night of the Awards, December 12, which will be broadcast live on Channel 4.
The winner will be given the prize by the current champion - so Jack Whitehall may end up giving the prize to himself…
There are a total of 15 categories in this year’s British Comedy Awards, including Best New British TV Comedy, Best Sitcom, Best Comedy Actor and Actress, Outstanding Achievement Award, The Writer’s Guild of Great Britain Award and the award for International Achievement.
Comedy fans can vote for their King or Queen by calling the numbers below.
