It's a busy time for Judi Love at the moment. She is currently one of the mentors on Stand Up And Deliver on C4, one of the comedy commentators on the new Sky series Dating n Filter. She was recently a guest on The Graham Norton Show and this week she is a guest on The Last Leg. That's almost Ranganathanesque levels of busy-ness.
The other guest is Harry Hill, who has been doing a lot of art during the lockdown and popped up on Grayson's Art Club, but also has some new comedy work in the pipeline too. As a former doctor he very nearly made his medical comeback to help out during the height of the Covid19 crisis. He explained what happened when he was a guest on one of Jason Manford's online shows last year.
Because he was still on the medical register he received an email from the General Medical Council asking him if he had thought about joining back up. Hill – real name Matthew Hall – was one of many retired doctors they were hoping to enlist to help out if the NHS was swamped with Covid19 cases.
Hill clicked on the link to show some interest and was told he would get a call back about his return to work. And then he then got a message asking him to start at the Excel Nightingale Hospital in east London that had recently been opened to deal with the pandemic, which he found chilling. He made his excuses and said that as he lived in south London it would be too far to get to. "Can you imagine if you are seriously ill and I appear at your bed?"
The show will, as usual, be co-hosted by Adam Hills, Josh Widdicombe and Alex Brooker and will of course feature their regular #isitok hashtag.
