Actor Trevor Peacock, known to many as scatterbrained Jim Trott in The Vicar of Dibley has died. He was 89.
A statement issued on behalf of his family said: "Trevor Peacock, actor, writer and song-writer, died aged 89 on the morning of 8 March from a dementia-related illness.”
Dibley star Dawn French tweeted an emoji of a broken heart and wrote: "Night Trev. I love you."
Trevor Peacock/Jim Trott is bottom left in the accompanying picture.
In a long career on the screen and covering comedy and drama, Peacock also appeared in TV programmes including EastEnders, The Bill, My Family and Joathan Creek.
He also wrote songs, including hits for Herman's Hermits and Jess Conrad.
