News: Johnny Vegas Launches New Interactive Quiz

TV Viewers Convinced Johnny Vegas In Olympic Gymnastics Commentator

Just The Tonic Club's Working From Home night returns on Saturday, March 20 and includes a new interactive pub quiz segment hosted by Johnny Vegas.

Other acts on the bill include Jason Byrne, Hal Cruttenden, Laura Lexx, Chris Turner and Matt Forde.  Regulars include Mick Ferry's Two Minute Interview, Scott Bennett (View From A Shed), Tom Binns and Mark Simmons.  The show is hosted by creator and JTT owner Darrell Martin.

Vegas will be hosting the quiz which viewers can take part in via an App or another device on the night. More details to follow. This first show is a test run and as the organisers warn: "It might all go wrong." Which, judging by previous shambolic Working From Home nights, might be part of the enjoyment. Don't expect straight stand up. Expect fun. If you have watched before then you have an idea already. Chaos, sketches, pre-recorded bit, live chat.

In April Just the Tonic responded to the lockdown by being one of the first in the world to put on livestream events and selling tickets to an audience. Their first show in early May sold over 1800 tickets. This show was supposed to be a one off, and it featured Jon Richardson, Matt Forde, Paul McCaffrey amongst others.  Successive shows have seen the likes of Kerry Godliman, Jason Manford, Russell Kane, Milton Jones, Matthew Horne, Johnny Vegas and Ross Noble. Their New Year’s Eve show last year sold over 7500 tickets and featured Romesh Ranganathan.

Just the Tonic was launched in Nottingham over 25 years ago and has played host to countless up-and-coming comics as well as the most established TV names. It is now one of the most respected live comedy brands across the UK with venues in Leicester, Birmingham, Nottingham, Reading and Watford.  It also runs shows at leading festivals including the Leicester Comedy Festival and the Edinburgh Festival. Past and recent performers include the likes of Ricky Gervais, Al Murray, Bill Bailey, Stewart Lee, Simon Pegg, Noel Fielding, Dylan Moran, Ross Noble, Daniel Kitson and Johnny Vegas.
