Russell Howard has moved his upcoming shows in Bristol from July 5 - 10 from the Hippodrome to Ashton Gate football ground, the home of Bristol City FC and the Bristol Bears.
The alternative venue was announced in response to the government’s step 4 roadmap delay as the larger space will safely accommodate ticket holders.
Russell Howard said: “I’m delighted to announce my Bristol gigs in July can still happen, but due to social distancing we’ve changed venues and I will now be playing Respite at Bristol City. Can’t wait to see you soon”
After playing a sold-out and critically-acclaimed UK arena run in Autumn 2019 and becoming the first international comedian to perform in Australia and New Zealand since the global lockdown earlier this year, Russell returns to the UK with a rescheduled (due to the coronavirus) second UK leg of his world tour. From 28th June 2021 through to the 13th February 2022 Russell will play theatres nationwide including 5 Hammersmith Apollo dates from 25th-29th August. Russell’s third and biggest world tour to date, Respite, will in total take him to 79 cities across 24 countries in 5 continents.
Russell’s 2017 sell-out international tour, Round the World, saw him break the record for the biggest English speaking stand-up show in China and play a record-breaking 10 night run at the Royal Albert Hall, overtaking 8 in a row jointly held by Frank Sinatra and Barry Manilow. The tour culminated with the global release of Netflix Special Recalibrate.
