Greenwich Comedy Festival Line-Up Announced

Mae Martin Wins Best TV Situation Comedy for Feel Good At Writers’ Guild of Great Britain Awards
the line-up for this year's Greenwich Comedy Festival has bee announced.
 
Among those appearing are Tom Allen, stand-up master Dara O’Briain, multi-award winning Sara Pascoe, The Mash Report’s Nish Kumar, BAFTA nominee Mae Martin, the fast-rising Phil Wang and many more outrageously good comedians.
 
For five nights from September 15 - 19 the critically acclaimed comedy festival returns to the iconic grounds of the National Maritime Museum, Royal Museums Greenwich with a series of unbeatable mixed-bill shows starring the absolute finest comedians of the moment.
 
The annual comedy extravaganza has been delighting audiences since 2009. Traditionally held in a Big Top tent this year’s al fresco edition continues on from last year’s hugely successful pandemic-punching event, which saw thousands of ticket holders celebrate the return of live comedy. 
 
This year stars such as the virtuosic Alan Davies of Qi fame, the inimitable Reginald D Hunter , Alan Partridge star Tim Key, Taskmaster champ Lou Sanders, Off Menu co-host Ed Gamble, Netflix star Joel Dommett, one-liner king Milton Jones and British Comedy Award winner Nina Conti are among the big name acts taking to the stage.
 
Each show features a dazzling array of comedy talents pairing household names with the very best in breakthrough acts like Sarah KeyworthRay BadranJanine HarouniTadiwa Mahlunge, Catherine Bohart and Maisie Adam alongside firm festival favourites such as lo-fi hero David O’Doherty, the legendary Rich Hall, stand-up superhero Kiri Pritchard-Mclean and the magnificent Shappi Khorsandi
 
Audiences from across London and beyond will be making their annual pilgrimage for some outstanding entertainment in the beguiling surroundings of Royal Greenwich. The festival will be bursting with pop-up bars and street-food stalls pairing delicious tipples and bites with award-winning entertainment. 
 
This year’s shows will once more be presented on an outdoor stage under the stunning backdrop of the Queens House. Audiences will be seated in an open air theatre and tickets will be sold in multiples of two to ensure a smooth transition should social distancing need to to be introduced across the event. 
 
The festival is produced by the Greenwich-raised, sibling team Will Briggs and Cass Randolph of 57 Festivals. The pair are looking forward to getting back to their old stomping ground. “Everything started for us in Greenwich.” says Cass. “We launched this festival thirteen years ago and have since branched out to other locations across the UK, but Greenwich will always be our home.” Will says “We’ve got so many incredible line-ups this year, with comedy royalty such as Dara O’Briain, Sara Pascoe & Tom Allen alongside some of our absolute favourites, every show is going to be immense.”
