A number of comedy clubs have announced on social media that they have cancelled bookings with comedian Andrew Lawrence following the stand-up's tweet about the England penalty shootout.

Following the Euros defeat Lawrence tweeted: "All I'm saying is, the white guys scored." 

Later on he doubled down by adding: "I can see that this has offended a lot of people, and I'm sorry that black guys are bad at penalties."

Chesham Comedy Club tweeted in response: "I know you won't particularly care, but we at Chesham Comedy club will not tolerate racism in any form so please consider your booking with us cancelled."

Hanger Farm Arts Centre tweeted: "We totally agree that there is no place for racism in the world. We have taken Andrew's show off sale because of his comments"

Rosehill Theatre tweeted: "His scheduled visit to Rosehill is no longer on sale."
