The Funny Women Stage Award sponsored by Sky Studios submission videos have been viewed, reviewed, and scored by both Funny Women and independent judges. There was a record number of entrants for the 2021 Awards and a truly high standard of Funny Women! We are delighted to say the awards are truly global with women from UAE, The Netherlands, Denmark, Germany, Indonesia, Ireland, USA, Italy, Canada, Iceland, France, Australia and New Zealand alongside the UK that made it into the heats!
There will be 13 Virtual heats taking place from the 19th July though to the 26th July –with times and detailed here. They will be streamed live from all over the globe here on our Twitch Channel. This is a unique opportunity to see a host of brand new acts on their way to stardom. Please check the Funny Women website here for full list of the top women!
As with previous years, the scoring will be tallied at the end of all the heats and on 10th August 2021 we will announce our semi finalists. The final takes place at London’s Bloomsbury Theatre on 23rd September.
Judges from prestigious areas of the media for the awards include Stephen Armstrong (Sunday Times Culture), Dominic Maxwell (The Times), Bruce Dessau (Evening Standard / Beyond The Joke), Sukey Firth (Radio 4 Loose Ends), Nosheen Iqbal (The Guardian), Sharon Lougher (Metro) & Kate Copstick (Scotsman).
Registration for the 2021 Funny Women heat Content Creator Award is open until 14th September.

The Funny Women Awards were created in 2003 by founder Lynne Parker and have since become the leading platform for numerous talented female performers, writers, creators and short film makers. The Awards are the ‘beating heart’ of Funny Women with their mission to encourage women to have a stronger, funnier and memorable voice across media, business and beyond. Funny Women’s Matron is Jo Brand, who came on board to support the community.
