Richard Osman's House of Games has been running repeats for ages and I've been showing off/cheating in front of friends watching it with me who thought it was new that I know all the answers. I'm now going to have to get my act together as it has returned for a new series.
It's a great show and lots of fun and it's good to see contestants stretching themselves mentally. Comedians have an excellent track record on the show. Last year Angela Barnes smashed the record books and became the first comestant to win all five editions. Mae Martin won House of Games in a memorable tussle where Patsy Kensit joked that she was going to kill her agent for getting her on the show.
So how will Olga Koch and Andrew Maxwell do this week? Russia-born comedian Olga Koch is becoming a regular face on British television, having recently appeared in shows including Mock The Week, QI and Pls Like.
In June 2018 Koch picked up an Edinburgh Comedy Award Best Newcomer nomination for her show Fight (Koch Fight - geddit?), which later became a BBC Radio 4 special.
Andrew Maxwell is a well-travelled, well-respected Irish stand-up who won over new fans when he was on I'm A Celebrity... He's certainly not stupid, so let's see how he does.
They are up against Reeta Chakrabarti and Gareth Thomas, taking on a series of quiz rounds selected by the host, quiz legend Richard Osman.
A daily winner is declared following a quick-fire round at the end of each show, and the scores are tallied across the week, resulting in an overall champion being crowned on Friday.
Will the winning stars opt for the much-coveted House of Games decanter, or will they be tempted with the House of Games kitchen composter, which is brand new for this series?
