I have a pet theory which I came up with late one night that in a parallel universe a completely different group fo comedians dominate the primetime schedules. In that world we sit down to watch Adam Bloom's Comedy Roadshow, Paul Tonkinson is hosting Would I Lie To You? and Ian Stone is presenting Have I Got News For You.

But instead we are living in this world where Bradley Walsh seems to be at the top of producers' wish lists. He's got The Chase sewn up, he's been in Doctor Who, he's done travel shows with his son and is currently doing drama in the latest version of The Larkins. And talking of reboots, he is also fronting this primetime revival of Blankety Blank, following in the illustrious footsteps of Terry Wogan and Les Dawson. Big shoes to fill indeed.

As Saturday night entertainment goes this is pretty painless fun. And he does get some good guests on. This week's line-up is certainly diverse. It features Rachel Riley, Baga Chipz, Liza Tarbuck, Rhod Gilbert, Ore Oduba and Scarlett Moffatt attempting to fill in the gaps and help the contestants win prizes.

Welsh comedian comedian Rhod Gilbert is always good value and should be on television more often. He also co-presents a fun podcast, The Froth, with his real life wife, Sian Harries. Check out the recent episode in which he chats to Kettering's James Acaster about their rivarly when they both appeared on Taskmaster. Let's just say that neither of them won that series.
