Veteran Entertainer Lionel Blair Dies Aged 92

Veteran entertainer Lionel Blair had died aged 92.

His agent confirmed that he died on Thursday morning.

Blair was a familiar face onscreen for many years. He appeared in numerous films. He played a choreographer in the Beatles film A Hard Day's Night.

He was team captain on the game show Give Us A Clue and more recently had a cameo in Ricky Gervais' Extras. He was also in Celebrity Big Brother. Fellow housemate Rylan tweeted: "Lionel was such a brilliant housemate and an even better human. Such a gentleman and always a pleasure to be around. Always used to whip his collapsible wand out every time when he entered the office and every time it was still hilarious. RIP lord Lionel."

He was also famously the subject of regular innuendo-laden jokes on Radio 4's I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue and his name became rhyming slang for flares.
