There's a really good comedy line-up on The Jonathan Ross Show this week with guests Michael McIntyre, Aisling Bea, Rob Delaney and rising star Fatiha El-Ghorri.
Also on the show are Ed Sheeran, who appeared remotely last week due to Covid, plus Hollywood stars Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, Gal Gadot and Ryan Reynolds.
Michael McIntyre is on because he has a new volume of his autobiography out and also a new series of The Wheel returning to BBC One. An American version is apparently also being wheeled out so maybe McIntyre is about to do what a lot of British comics have tried and crack the USA.
Real-life friends Aisling Bea and Rob Delaney, recently seen on Celebrity Gogglebox, will presumably be talking about their roles in the new Homr Alone reboot, Home Sweet Home Alon. Bea plays the mum who accidentally leaves her son at home while Delaney plays one of the villains.
There was recently a kerfuffle on social media when a trailer was released and fans of Irish star Bea were surprise to see that she had a middle class English accent in the film. Bea responded by tweeting: "Hello, to everybody that has been wondering online why I have an English accent in the new Home Alone movie: it's because the character's English," she said.
"She's from England and if she was from England and she spoke with an Irish accent then that would be quite strange. But she's English. If she was Australian she'd probably have an Australian accent.
If she was from Texas then she'd probably have a Southern accent. If she was from Scotland then she might have a Scottish accent.
If she was Irish she would speak very much like I do because I am from Ireland. But this character is not from Ireland... she's from England, and so that's why I'm doing the accent.
So her character has an English accent because she's English? Strange. It is also not a true crime documentary about a Mother who leaves her son alone to fend for himself, because if it was I would be in jail."
Look out too for rising star Fatiha El-Ghorri, who made a bit of a splash when she appeared on Jonathan Ross' Comedy Club stand-up showcase during lockdown.
