Fans of the Vic and Bob sitcom House of Fools got a fright when they read that the location of the filming they were hoping to see was nearly 200 miles further away than expected.
Northeners such as Oldham comedian Mick Ferry applied for tickets for the second series which they were told was going to be filmed in Media City, Salford. When the tickets arrived, however, they were surprised to see that the address said that they had to go to Elstree, just outside London.
After an initially panic that they would not be able to go, there was a big sigh of relief when it turned out that the Elstree address on the tickets was an error. It was as if one of the idiots in the knockabout programme – or Seann Walsh – had done the admin. The sitcom is being filmed in Salford after all and new tickets are now being sent out to those whose applications were successful.
Ferry, who appeared in the Vic & Bob-ish Edinburgh Fringe show Funz and Gamez, had been excited about getting a ticket because they were in such high demand. Though his chances of getting a ticket for the recording were always going to be pretty high. As he admitted on Twitter, he had applied for tickets for all the episodes.
Among those appearing in the new series alongside the regular cast is Reece Shearsmith, who will be returning, but, he says, not as dead character Martin.
