Richard Osman's House of Games Champions Week With Maisie Adam, Zoe Lyons, Ivo Graham

If you want proof that comedians regularly boss Richard Osman's House of Games look at the line-up of this winners week special featuring four previous champions. Three of the contestants – Maisie Adam, Ivo Graham and Zoe Lyons are comedians. They are joined by token non comedy celebrity, radio presenter, DJ and actor Dev Griffin. But really, it's all about comedians. And hair. And Brighton.

So the chances of a comedian winning this week's show are pretty high. Brighton resident Zoe Lyons is not just a top comedian, she is also a quiz show presenter herself, fronting her own daytime quiz, Lightning, so nerves should not be a problem. If you are wondering if she is wearing a wig read this.

Ivo Graham clearly has a pretty sharp brain, he went to Eton and Oxford. On the other hand so did Boris Johnson, so maybe that theory doesn't hold a huge amount of water...

As for another Brighton resident Maisie Adam, famous for her trademark skingirl haircut, she has become a regular TV face during the last eighteen months. By coincidence I interviewed Adam last week for the Evening Standard. Needless to say she did not reveal the result of this week's House of Games, but what she did suggest was that comedians might hava habit of doing well because some of the rounds, such as Answer Smash, depend on wordplay and stand-ups often tend to be good with words as its part of their job description.

Anyway, I certainly wouldn't bet against Mock The Week breakout star Maisie winning this - she is certainly on a roll with good news at the moment. Earlier this month she got engaged to her long term boyfriend who she lives with in Brighton. And Brighton also has good form when it comes to House of Games – fellow Brightonian Angela Barnes became the first contestant to win all five days in succession back in 2020...
