The spoof Line of Duty interview with Boris Johnson has gone viral, notching up over 5 million views on Twitter.
The clip was made by campaign group Led By Donkeys. In it the Prime Minister faces Steve Arnott (Martin Compston), Ted Hastings (Adrian Dunbar) and Kate Fleming (Vicky McClure) in the interrogation room. The tweet featured the line: “If you've got one shred of compassion for all those families who sacrificed so much, who lost so much, you’ll go”.
It is not clear if the actors are doing their own voiceovers in the clip (though if they are impressionists they sound as if they are pretty good at their job). According to a story in the Mail, when asked about it the BBC spokesperson replied: "This sketch is entirely independent of the BBC and we are not involved with it in any way so we are unable to assist."
Line of Duty creator Jed Mercurio said on Twitter: "Brilliant work @ByDonkeys"
