From February 2nd to 20th, audiences around the world will be able to watch Leicester Comedy Festival - the UK’s biggest pure comedy festival via streaming service NextUp.
Described as the ‘the Netflix of UK stand-up’, NextUp is available on web, mobile and smart TVs worldwide - bringing the Leicester Comedy Festival to more people than ever before.
Over 40 shows will be live streamed from festival venues, including acclaimed comedians Jen Brister, Tony Law and Jen Ives, with more shows added daily.
NextUp founder Sarah Henley says: ‘We are delighted to be working with the incredible Leicester Comedy Festival this year - streaming all the comedy chaos direct from venues with in-person audiences.
On a personal level, I love that despite being at home with my kids most evenings, I can still watch the festival LIVE. Plus, there’s no queues for the toilet and the beer is cheap!
Whether it’s childcare, venue location or ticket availability - NextUp’s mission is to amplify live comedy and break down accessibility barriers meaning brilliant comics can reach even greater audiences.’
NextUp and Leicester Comedy Festival previously collaborated in 2021 when the festival had to migrate completely online. Over 20K streaming tickets were sold, and NextUp were awarded the coveted LCF Award for ‘Contribution to LCF 2021’.
In 2022, NextUp are streaming the festival direct from venues with in-person audiences, and expect to out-perform last year’s online viewership.
Access to NextUp, which includes Leicester Comedy Festival, is currently £27 per year with a 1 day free trial, or £7 per month.
