The Wells Comedy Festival – Somerset’s ‘weekend-long comedy jamboree’ (The Guardian) – has announced its return, with the first batch of shows now on sale.
Over the weekend of May 27-29, England’s smallest city will play host to over 40 comedy shows at various venues throughout the city.
The first batch of shows announced includes Harry Hill, Phil Wang, Al Murray The Pub Landlord, Shaparak Khorsandi, Isy Suttie, Mark Watson, Mike Wozniak, Lou Sanders, Stuart Goldsmith, Kiri Pritchard-McLean, Esther Manito and Jessica Fostekew. Many more acts will be announced soon.
Ben Williams, Founder of the Wells Comedy Festival, said: ‘We’re thrilled to be hosting our Somerset shindig again, three years after the last festival (for obvious reasons). We’re absolutely chuffed with the line-up so far, and there are plenty more shows to be announced. Watch this space.’
As well as solo shows, the festival is excited to announce the return of its four gala night performances, each with their own surprise line ups.
