Would i Lie To You? 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown, QI And Last Leg Line-Ups

No shortage of comedians on television tonight, even if most of them are making guest appearances on panel shows rather than doing stand-up.

First up is Would I Lie To You? at 8.30pm on BBC One. The guests joining Rob Brydon, David Mitchell and Lee Mack tonight are Pam Ayres, Sarah Kendall, Richard Osman and Kiell Smith-Bynoe from Ghosts and Stath Lets Flats (and he also pops up in new sketch show Lazy Susan).

Then at 9pm on BBC Two it's QI with guests Ed Gamble, Sindhu Vee and Lou Sanders joining Sandi Toksvig and regular panel guy Alan Davies. Gamble in particular is building a head of star steam at the moment. He has just been named in the line-up of this year's Celebrity Bake Off.

Over on Channel 4, also at 9pm, 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown features David O'Doherty in Dictionary Corner and teams Sarah Millican and Nish Kumar taking on Jon Richardson and Maisie Adam. Jimmy Carr, currently facing criticism on social media as I write this for a joke he told about gypsies and the holocaust, is in the host's seat.

If you do need your stand-up fix at 9.45pm on BBC Two there's an extended version of last autumn's Live at the Apollo when Angela Barnes introduced Tim Renkow and Sarah Keyworth.

And then last but by no means least at 10pm on C4 The Last Leg team of Josh Widdicombe, Alex Brooker and Adam Hills will be chatting to guests Tom Davis and Judi Love. Judi Love is pretty much on every producer's speed dial at the moment, while Tom Davis is about to star in The Curse, a comedy set in the 1980s about a heist and its aftermath.

We don't know what else the show will be covering but as it deals with topical stories maybe it will be reporting on the opening of the Winter Olympics, the latest Boris Johnson news or maybe the report on the Grimsby Live website that Josh Widdicombe was recently seen in their local branch of Morrisons. "He was a very polite and down to earth kind of guy, he didn't mind having his picture taken at all. It was a bit of a shock though, it's not every day you see a celebrity visiting the store," saud the store's security guard.
