James Acaster Goes Big Band

James Acaster Goes Jazz

James Acaster is set to appear at a special show fronted by jazz musician Tom Seals.

Seals will be joined by a 12-piece big band in an evening of music and comedy as stand-up legend Acaster joins Tom on stage to share his musical passions and hear Tom and the band perform them live along with jazz and big band standards.

In early 2021 Acaster said in an interview that he may not do stand-up again but he does currently seem to be happy to appear onstage if the circumstances are right. He has done live Off Menu shows with his podcast partner Ed Gamble and this gig echoes Acaster's interest in music. He fronts his own music podcast Perfect Sounds and wrote a book about the music of 2016 too.*

He has another book coming out later this year about giving up social media.

The gig will take place on March 5 at St Martin In The Fields in central London. Book tickets here.

*update: it appears Acaster is also dipping his toes back into stand-up with low key gigs at Angel Comedy and an appearance at Machfest this summer. Hat tip to @mostbutnotall for the update.
