James Acaster has added an extra run of shows at the Soho Theatre to follow his recent 10-night sell-out run at the venue. He will now return for more shows from December 9 - 23 due to phenomenal demand. In total Acaster will have entertained an audience the size of Hammersmith Apollo by the end of this run.
Acaster's show Recognise earned him a third consecutive Foster's Edinburgh Comedy Award nomination. He has also recently made a name for himself on television, appearing on Never Mind The Buzzcocks (BBC Two), Mock The Week (BBC Two), 8 Out Of 10 Cats (Channel 4) and Alan Davies’ As Yet Untitled (Dave).
In Recognise the Kettering comic has something he’s been meaning to get off his chest. He’s been putting it off for some time. You might want to sit down for this. James actually isn’t the stand-up comic you think he is. He’s going to reveal that he’s an undercover cop and always has been. He’s invested too much in his assumed identity of a comedian.
It’s time to make things right.
Further credits include Russell Howard’s Good News (BBC Three), Dave’s One Night Stand (Dave), Show and Tell (E4), Live at The Comedy Store (Paramount) and the Edinburgh Fest Comedy Gala (BBC Three). Off stage he has his own series ‘James Acaster’s Findings’ for BBC Radio 4 and also regularly features on XFM. He also received the coveted New Zealand Comedy Festival Award for Best International Show earlier this year.
