Can comedian Axel Blake win Britain's Got Talent this year?
He got a Golden Buzzer after his first appearance from Simon Cowell and then made it into the final, but he is up against some stiff competition.
I've been watching the programme as it has gone out and every act so far seems to have been tipped as the winner, from youthful ventriloquism act Jamei Leahey, 13-year-old ventriloquist to dancers 5 Star Boys to wildcard Amber and The Dancing Collies, who was joined by her female dog Nymeria, even though Simon Cowell though she was a he.
Musical act Flint & T4ylor did well despite fluffing some of their lyrics. Simon Cowell praised their performance and told them not to worry about it.
The audience seeemed to love everything but viewers at home were divided. basidon hammer tweeted: "Britain’s got talent is shit.. it really is. Say what you like about it but it’s engineered tv at its best . Where’s my remote??"
And Andy tweeted: "Watching Britain’s got talent just because it’s on after the footy and my god how is this the final, I’d hate to of seen the shite at the auditions"
There's also another comedian in the mix, Black Country stand-up Eva Abley, who is 14 years old. The judges loved her sense of humour. After joking about her dad's looks she said: "I've always wondered what Dec saw in Ant...Personality is everything." She also had a political joke about being sacked as Boris' hairdresser, but was now Simon's hairdresser. And "his parties are better." Afterwards Simon Cowell said she had a "Star glow" and was "probably going to win".
Teacher and singer Tom Ball certainly hit the high notes with I Who Have Nothing. David Walliams praised his "incredible voice."
Ben Nickless, impressionist, hoped to realise his dream of touring with his own show and play the Royal Variety Performance. His impressions ranged from Mark Owen to Prince Charles to Joe Pasquale. Alesha Dixon summed him up neatly: "Good old fashioned entertainment."
Amanda Holden said singer Loren Allred was "absolutely stunning."
Danzelwoman probably summed up a lot of us: "Actually ashamed of myself for watching Britain’s got talent but it’s addictive ok"
Aneeschwar Kunchala, the seven-year-old environmentalist, melted the hearts of the judges David Walliams, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Simon Cowell with his eco-friendly poetry. If he wins he will be the youngest-ever winner. Amanda Holden said: "You did it again." Simon Cowell said: "You are a very very very special young man. You should have your own show." David Walliams added: "You are adorable and it's a really important message. Your passion shows through."
34-year-old Blake must be in with a chance, having smashed it so far. But, as I said, he's up against stiff competition. He joked about his neighbours who want to know him now he has been on TV. He joked that people have mistaken him for a famous musician: "Stormzy's put on a bit of weight". He also joked about cyclists who range from obsessives to Boris Bike riders.
Afterwards Simon Cowell said: "We have discovered a star." David Walliams said "That was a winning performance." Alesha Dixon added: "You do it in style." Amanda Holden called him a "gorgeous person."
Maxwel Thorpe, busking opera singer, closed the final and David Walliams said he would be a worthy winner.
