The rising arts festival Ventnor Fringe, which features gigs, comedy and theatre in pop up venues throughout the dramatic cliff-top town on the Isle of Wight, will return from 22nd July - 31st July 2022.
Spanning 10 days and hosting hundreds of performers, Ventnor Fringe has garnered rave reviews, with The Sunday Times hailing it as “rapidly becoming the country’s most surprising and inspirational multidisciplinary arts festival” The Independent described the event as “One hell of a homegrown festival....an authentic, bohemian festival experience”
Comedy is well represented at the festival with Lou Sanders (Taskmaster, Travelman, QI) Jayde Adams (Snackmasters, Crazy Delicious, 8 Out of 10 Cats, Amazon Prime Special) Simon Brodkin (Live at the Apollo, The John Bishop Show) and Angela Barnes (Live at the Apollo, Mock The Week, Russell Howard's Good News) all making the trip to the Island, performing in the festival’s famous Magpie Big Top.
Other venues worth exploring include The Nest and Ventnor Arts Club which will feature previews of new work from Mickey Overman, Eleanor Tiernan, Alfie Brown, Luke Kempner and Rob Auton among many others.
Fans of mixed bills should check out the Pick of The Fringe Show, hosted by two time Edinburgh Comedy Awards nominee Ahir Shah, and featuring special guests including Ania Maglliano, Alex Kealy and Garrett Millerick.
The Isle of Wight is connected by more than 75 ferry crossings daily from Southampton, Portsmouth and Lymington. Set in the heart of a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, the festival offers a great base from which to explore a stunning coastline.
