Ricky Gervais has been honoured with a food waste truck being named after him.

Reading Borough Council ran a competition on its website where locals could write down suggestions for the names of their new food waste trucks.

One of the trucks has been named  'Ricky Gerwaste'. The comedian and After Life star tweeted: "Is there any greater honour than your hometown naming a garbage truck after you?"
