Jerry Sadowitz Returns To The Fringe

Jerry Sadowitz – “I wouldn’t continue performing if it was just an audience of Nazis.

Jerry Sadowitz is set to return to the Edinburgh Fringe following the controversy over his show at the Pleasance @ EICC being cancelled after the first night of its two-night run.

The comedian will not be appearing in the flesh but he has recorded a voiceover to accompany the show by publicist Mark Borkowski, entitled False Teeth in a Pork Pie: How To Unleash Your Inner Crazy which is at the Assembly George Square Studios from August 18 - 21. Tickets here.

Sadowitz's voice will appear in the show from August 18 - 20.

The show takes audiences on a trip through Borkowski's colourful career and life as a renowned PR stuntsman.

From partying with Marlon Brando to a search for the Holy Grail via a ‘parrot audition’ for a part in Treasure Island, Mark blends storytelling, cabaret and some other stuff that for now we’ll just call ‘avant-garde performance art’ to take us on a voyage into the very nucleus of a great story, while teaching us how to open our minds to the weird and wonderful, and maybe even unearth the maverick within.

There has been speculation that the whole outrage and cancellation of Sadowitz's show was a publicity stunt done to help sell tickets for his forthcoming tour. While it was strange that there have not been a plethora complaints on social media posted by offended audience members who walked out, it seems extremely unlikely that the whole thing was a stunt. If it was the Pleasance would have to have been involved in it and judging by their statements they are definitely not involved.

However, BTJ has heard that since the story has been big news, tickets for Sadowitz's tour and also his one-off headline gig in Margate have been flying off the shelves. As far as BTJ is aware the full tour is still currently going ahead.
