Amused Moose Comedy has announced the seven nominated Fringe comedy shows in the Amused Moose Comedy Awards 2022.
The Amused Moose Comedy Award 2022's 'super seven' nominees are:
- ADAM FLOOD: Clayhead (Just The Tonic, Mash House)
- CHELSEA BIRKBY: No More Mr Nice Chelsea (Just The Tonic, Caves)
- CHRISTIAN BRIGHTY: Playboy (Pleasance Courtyard)
- GRUBBY LITTLE MITTS (Assembly, George Square)
- PHIL GREEN: 90s Boy - Blair, the Lovegun and Me (PBH@Banshee Labyrinth)
- RICHARD DAVID-CAINE: Tall Dark and Anxious (Underbelly, IronBelly)
- WILL MARS: My Life in One-Liners (Gilded Balloon,PatterHoose)
Not only will the three winners among these nominees be presented with an Amused Moose trophy later this week, but Amused Moose Comedy is hopeful that the tradition continues of some of the nominated shows being invited to perform at Soho Theatre in the Autumn.
Entries were submitted by the performers to Amused Moose Comedy in July, including a film of a public performance of their show as a preview/work-in-progress. Then dozens of comedy industry cognescenti around the globe viewed all films online to select those who would go onto the Longlist, and others onto the Wildcard list which featured shows that felt far from ready for performance at the Edinburgh Fringe but had potential. Those lists included almost all entries, such is the high standard in 2022 following the long break.
The 'super seven' nominees have been selected from both lists - four from the Longlist and three from the Wildcard list - by a panel of comedy industry folk including critics, promoters and producers, who have been seeing shows at the Edinburgh Fringe which entered Amused Moose Comedy Awards 2022.
