Richard Osman's House Of Games Returns

Richard Osman's House Of Games Returns

Richard Osman's House Of Games returned to BBC Two this week without a massive fanfare, which meant that I missed the first three episodes. I'm not going to reveal the current scores but the guests this week are Hannah Cockroft, Neil Morrissey, Penny Smith and Rhys Stephenson.

It feels unusual not to have a stand-up comedian on the show as they have such a good track record. Angela Barnes won all five of her episodes (and then won a Champions episode too) and Isy Suttie, Josie Long, Tim Key, Neil Delamere and Rufus Hound are among previous winners too.

You'd have to have a long memory to recall Neil Morrissey's comedy breakthrough in Men Behaving Badly. Presenter Penny Smith ought to do very well. CBBC Rhys Stephenson and Olympian and wheelchair racer Hannah Cockroft are also contenders.

And talking of sport, there is no episode on Thursday evening because of coverage of the atheltics in Zurich so this week's run resumes on Friday and then concludes on Saturday.

Next week's contestants are Jayne Middlemiss, Katya Jones, Rob Deering and Jamie Laing. and the the following week there is a special House of Games Chamoions edition with Laura Whitmore, Tim Key, Sunetra Sarker and Jamie Laing again – Laing also appeared in Series 5 (I think you can appear on a champions edition without acyually winning an edition, which is a bit odd, but then House of Games is a bit of an odd show...).

Osman himself revealed this year that he is quitting the daytime edtion of Pointless. He is set to be replaced by guests hosts. Sally Lindsay, Alex Brooker, Lauren Laverne, Stephen Mangan, Konnie Huq and Ed Gamble have all been confirmed.

Osman will continue to host future series of Pointless Celebrities as well as Richard Osman’s House of Games.
