The BBC is not showing any comedy at the moment due to the period of mourning, but that doesn't mean that comedians are not allowed on other programmes. Musical stand-up Rob Deering is one of the guests on this week's run of Richard Osman's House of Games.

Comedy fans will know Deering as someone who can take any song you can thing of and turn it into a comedy routine. Once you've heard his acid house parody song about coffee I can guarantee you won't be able to get it out of your head.

Deering is also known for the charity work he does for Parkinson's UK. He regularly organises gigs for the charity which is close to his heart due to his father having Parkinson's and he also runs marathons to raise money. In fact his next Shake With Laughter event is on October 10. Details here.

Also taking part in House of Games this week is Jayne Middlemiss who was a TV regular two decades ago when she fronted programmes including Top Of The Pops and appeared on the cover of magazines.

They are joined by Strictly dancer Katya Jones who, of course, has her own comedy connection, having been Seann Walsh's dancing partner when a picture of them together off duty was published in the tabloids.

And last but by no means least is cricketer-turned-pundit-turned-TV-personality Phil Tufnell who has made a name for himself as a panel games joker and reality TV star.

A daily winner is declared following a quickfire round at the end of each show, and the scores are tallied across the week, resulting in an overall champion being crowned on Friday.

So who will win? I'm not a betting man, but if I was going o have a punt I'd go for Rob Deering.
