Mock the Week will now begin recording next Wednesday, 21st September, with transmission on Friday 23rd September. This will be the last series of the long-running comedy panel show.
There will now be five regular episodes followed by two specials looking back over the seventeen years the series has been running.
Joining mainstays Dara O’Briain and Hugh Dennis on episode one are Mock the Week stalwarts Angela Barnes and Rhys James who will be making their 34th and 29th appearances respectively. Comedian and 'knight errant’ Alasdair Beckett-King and comedian, actress and virologist Ria Lina will both be making their fourth appearance on the series and there will be a debut for Josh Pugh, fresh from his Dave’s Edinburgh Comedy Awards nomination for a show, described by the Guardian as “amiable, emotionally honest and rich in good jokes.”
Other comedians also confirmed to appear on the series include James Acaster, Ed Byrne, Ahir Shah, Nish Kumar, Laura Lexx, Jen Brister, Glenn Moore, Zoe Lyons and Sean McLoughlin.
