Charlie Baker, Val McDermid, Martin Offiah and Rebecca Lucy Taylor take on a series of quiz rounds selected by the host, quiz legend Richard Osman. Though you may have missed the first episode as it went out on the day of he Queen's funeral, when comedy was 'banned'on the BBC...
But this is, of course, a game show, not a comedy show, even though it regularly features comedians and you may well laugh at certain points. This week's contestants include Charlie Baker, who as well as being a great stand-up also appears in Harry Hill's musicals. He was in Hill's X Factor musical and recently starred as a former Prime Minister in Hill's Hill-arious rock opera based on the life of Tony Blair.
The stage show had a brief run at the Park Theatre and hopefully it will re-emerge somewhere at some point. Baker played Blair brilliantly with a mix of beatific smirk and Jack Black swagger. Physically I thought he actually looked more like Gordon Brown, but the toothy smile conjured up the former PM to a, erm, T.
On Richard Osman's House of Games Baker is up against some stiff opposition. Rebecca Lucy Taylor is better known as musician Self Esteem. Martin Offiah is a formidable former rugby player (is it right that his nickname during his playing days was "Chariots"?).
And Scottish writer Val McDermid – pictured here with Charlie Baker – is a best selling author, known for her crime novels.
We saw the first episode on Monday but will not reveal the result in case you missed it. Comedians have a pretty good track record on this show so could Baker be walking away with one of the Osman-embossed prizes at the end of the week? You'll have to tune in yourselves to see...
