After mentioning that last week's show was a bit short on the comedy front when it came to guests, Sunday Brunch has made up for it with three top entertainers joining Tim Lovejoy and Simon Rimmer this week – Bob Mortimer, Tim Minchin, Alex Horne.
Bob Mortimer will be on the show to tie in with the publication of his debut novel The Satsuma Complex, which reviews have said is a bit like an alternative autobiography, with bits that are Mortimer fact and bits that are Mortimer fiction, The main character is a south London solicitor which is what Mortimer was before he found fame with Vic Reeves on Big Night Out and then more recently on Gone Fishing with Paul Whitehouse. Though actually the book sounds most similar to an epsiode of the panel show that has helped to make Mortimer a national treasure, Would I Lie To You?, where Mortimer made his name spinning yarns that had the thinnest relationship with reality.
Alex Horne will be plugging his new sitcom The Horne Section TV Show which also blurs fact and fiction. Taskmaster creator Horne and his band play versions of themselves who are commissioned to make and star in a TV show featuring themselves. Still with me? Good. You can read a review of the first episode here and the whole series is already available to watch on All4 and is coming to C4 later this month.
Tim Minchin will be talking about the imminent netflix film version of his hit musical Matilda, based on the Roald Dahl book and starring Emma Thompson as Miss Trunchball. Minchin says it was a life long dream to work with Thompson.
Also appearing on the show are Strictly judge Shirley Ballas, actor and singer Luke Evans and there will be music from Dermot Kennedy.
