This week's editions of Richard Osman's House Of Games: Champions might have been notable for the fiercely competitive players but it has also been notable for the fact that Richard Osman's fiancé, Ingrid Oliver, is one of the players.

Social media has been somewhat divided over the latter issue. Some people have compared it to a potential Richard Curtis romcom after Oliver tweeted: "On HoG Champion of Champions this week. Starts tonight at 6pm. Last time I was on the show, I won a fiancé." at the start of the week. Others, however, have found Osman's repeated references to the fact that they are engaged and live together a little on the cringey side, his mentions of their relationship making him sound like a (very tall) kid who can't believe his luck. 

Lynsey James tweeted: "Every time I remember that Richard Osman met his fiancée on House of Games, I want to write a rom com about a smart but lonely quiz show host who finds love with a contestant, why am I like this...it's SO CUTE. OK so he fell in love with a contestant named Ingrid Oliver and now they live together and have a cat called Liesl Von Cat"

@bantambookwork Kate tweeted sarcastically: "Is Richard Osman engaged to Ingrid Oliver? Only he's not mentioned it very much... #houseofgames"

To which granny sue hope, replied: @Susanhope5111S replied: "Soo so cringy. We know Richard loves ingrid. We know cos he told us 10 million times. Shut up now PLEASE."

While youlum tweeted: "Watching Richard Osman’s House of Games and is anyone else finding it a bit odd knowing that he is engaged to one of the contestants, Ingrid Oliver. And they will have been … intimate. So professional with their straight faces "

Sam Malin agreed: "Kind of weird watching Richard Osman's House of Games when his fiancee Ingrid Oliver is on it. I am happy for them (I like them both) but it is odd."

But Mrs Segal was all in favour of them appearing together: "Absolutely loving seeing Ingrid Oliver on #houseofgames with fiancé @richardosman this week. Back where it all began..."

John Rogers suggested a Taskmaster spin-off: "I think a spouses of past contestants lineup would be good. David Mitchell, Lucy Beaumont, Ingrid Oliver, Gary Delaney, stewart Lee #Taskmaster"

Amanda Haggart wrote: "I have just been informed that two of my biggest crushes growing up, Ingrid Oliver and Richard Osman, are engaged Idk who I’m more jealous of but if they ever need a third I am available"
