After last week's House of Games Champions edition which turned into a bit of a Richard Osman/Ingrid Oliver lovefest, we are back to the more regular, less romantic template this week, with four players competing to see who is top brainbox – Maggie Aderin-Pocock, Cariad Lloyd, Gareth Malone and Mike Wozniak.
Comedy fans will know Cariad Lloyd from her apparances on Would I Lie To You? Peep Show and 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, but she has also established herself as an influential podcaster with her award-winning Griefcast series which has interviewed people about coping with death. He is also part of the improvised sketch group Austentatious, which makes up a new Jane Austen story with every performance. She was nominated for an Edinburgh Comedy Award Best Newcomer prize for her debut show, Lady Cariad's Characters.
Mike Wozniak is also a TV regular from appearances on shows such as Man Down with Greg Davies, but will also be better known to box-watchers for his memorable appearance on Taskmaster when he attempted to win by shaving his luxurious locks into a punk rock mohican style. It didn't win him the series but he did come second and it did win him lots of new fans. He will be touring next year and we recommend you check him out. Like Harry Hill, Simon Brodkin and Adam Kay he is a former doctor, proving that laughter is the best medicine.
Gareth Malone is the ever-youthful choirmaster who looks a bit like Harry Potter and Maggie Aderin-Pocock is a British space scientist and science educator.
