Two generations of comedians are represented in this week's festive editions of Richard Osman's House of Games. Brian Conley comes from the Bradley Walsh school of light entertainment mainstream comics, while Phil Wang is very much part of the latest wave of Oxbridge stand-ups becoming TV regulars.
Phil Wang recently announced a huge national tour, following on from the sucess of his Netflix stand-up special and book. The UK & Ireland leg of Wang's world tour will run from 23rd March to the 18th June. Wang will be exploring race, family, nipples, and everything else in shows at venues that include Edinburgh’s Queen Hall on the 6th May, Dublin’s Vicar Street on the 13th May and Southbank Centre's Royal Festival Hall in London the 19th May. Details here.
Brian Conley, 61, can currenrly be seen as Buttons in Conderella at the New Victoria Theatre in Woking. Soap fans will know Conley from Eastenders. Tom 'Rocky' Cotton is played by Brian Conley, who joined the show as the son of Charlie Cotton in 2021.
Scarlett Moffatt, from County Durham, had a pretty meteoric rise after appearing in Gogglebox. Since then she has become a TV star though some projects have been more successful than others. She fronted Channel 4's comedy show Host The Week, but had better reviews for her appearances elsewhere and has had a lot of support for her campaigns supporting body positivity.
If Anneka Rice, 63, is not officially a national treasure she certainly should be. The jump-suited star of Challenge Anneka! does not seem to have changed since the show first went out many years ago. I don't know what she takes to stay so young looking but can I have some please?
