From February 8th to 26th, audiences anywhere will be able to watch Leicester Comedy Festival - the UK’s biggest pure comedy festival via streaming service NextUp.
Described as the ‘the Netflix of UK stand-up’, NextUp is available on web, mobile and smart TVs worldwide - bringing the Leicester Comedy Festival to more people than ever before.
As the ‘Official Streaming Platform’ of Leicester Comedy Festival - NextUp have curated 18 incredible shows to live stream direct from festival venues, including Edinburgh Best Newcomer Nominated Emmanuel Sonubi’s ‘Emancipated’, Alison Spittle’s Edinburgh sell-out, ‘WET’, and the UK Pun Championships hosted by Jason Byrne. Additionally they’re streaming the sold-out, 30th Anniversary of ‘Comedy Heaven’ in aid of Prostaid featuring Nish Kumar, Arthur Smith and Laura Lexx.
NextUp producer Amy Williams says: ‘This is our third year working with LCF and it’s only getting better (we started in lockdown, so it couldn’t really get worse)! There are some hilarious shows on NextUp’s line up - I personally can’t wait to see Fesshole Live and John Hastings’s Edinburgh show, ‘Do You Have Any Ointment My John Hastings’, but we’ve tried to curate a programme with something for absolutely everyone, from puns and one liners to raucous late-night shows - if you can’t make it to Leicester in person, NextUp will definitely be the next best thing.’
NextUp and Leicester Comedy Festival previously collaborated in 2021 when the festival had to migrate completely online and NextUp were awarded the coveted LCF Award for ‘Contribution to LCF’. 2022 saw the second year of this partnership in which over 170k minutes of comedy were streamed by over 9k viewers in 127 different countries.
Access to NextUp, which includes Leicester Comedy Festival, is currently £30 per year, with an ‘early bird’ discount of 15% up to the 7th of February.
