Changes To Slapstick Festival

Changes To Slapstick Festival

In a late change to the advertised programme for the 19th annual edition of Slapstick in Bristol, the event now taking place on Saturday 18 February at St George’s, Brandon Hill (5.30pm) will be COMIC STRIP STORIES -  a 40th anniversary look back at The Comic Strip Presents TV series & films which helped to make stars of Ade Edmondson, French & Saunders, Rik Mayall, Nigel Planer and more.

The event will feature cast regulars Nigel Planer and Peter Richardson sharing insider stories and favourite clips from the episodes and films aired from the opening night of Channel 4 in November 1982 to 2016 with Robin Ince.

This replaces DESERT ISLAND COMEDY FLICKS, now moving to a later date.

Also some other changes. It’s now confirmed that Harry Shearer will join Sir Michael Palin in providing a video intro to the Feb 15 screening at the ex IMAX cinema of THIS IS SPINAL TAP.

Griff Rhys Jones is taking over the WHY I LOVE LAUREL & HARDY event at BOV on Sunday 19 due to Stephen Mangan encountering a clash with overseas filming.

Paul McGann will interview his fellow Scouser Mike McGear McCartney about his Beatles memories ahead of the Sunday 19th screening of A HARD DAY’S NIGHT.

SCREEN WONDER WOMEN event being hosted by Lucy Porter and Jane Duffus. It was scheduled to be at the IMAX on Wed 15 but will now be at Watershed, same date, same 6pm start.
