Brum Deal For Joe Lycett

Comedians Joe Lycett and Mo Gilligan are both to receive special accolades awarded by the judges at The National Comedy Awards for Stand Up To Cancer tonight.

Joe Lycett will receive the Comedy Game Changer Award in recognition of his work to inspire social change through comedy, from his campaign against white plastic and confronting Shell on greenwashing to highlighting inequalities faced by the LGTBQ+ community and challenging David Beckham to relinquish his role as an ambassador for FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Mo Gilligan has been awarded the Impact in Comedy Award in acknowledgement of his efforts to use his platform to shine a light on other brilliant Black comics, including the curation of two sold-out nights of Mo Gilligan + Friends: The Black British Takeover at The O2.

The National Comedy Awards for Stand Up To Cancer are hosted by Tom Allen at London’s Roundhouse and broadcast live on Channel 4 and All 4 tonight (Friday 17th February) at 9pm.
