Matt Richardson has been revealed as the new host of JACKfm Breakfast. The multi-award winning comedian and former host of TV’s The Xtra Factor and Virgin Radio drivetime is returning to the airwaves from Monday 13th March.

Matt returned to his home county last year after nearly a decade living in London and can’t wait to get back on the radio and show off his local knowledge.

Richardson said: “I was born in Didcot and went to Uni at Oxford...Brookes, but it’s still Oxford and when you come from Didcot, the grass is always greener! But seriously I know how the people of Oxfordshire tick because I am one of them - and I can’t wait to wake them up every morning.”

In addition to hosting the weekday breakfast show, Matt will continue to host his highly successful Laughing Ox stand-up comedy nights in venues across the area.

He’ll still be a regular face on TV too, where most recently he was a contestant on Celebrity Mastermind. Other shows you may have seen him on include Dancing On Ice, Celebrity Juice, Never Mind The Buzzcocks and Celebrity Coach Trip.

Matt Richardson was nominated for an ARIA award for Funniest Show in 2019 and he won Presenter of the Year in the 2019 Wireless Awards.

He’ll be in good company on JACKfm which already features the comedian and travel writer Dom Joly as the station voice and host of the Sunday Session show and Andrew “Selfy” Self who hosts weekly sports show The Morning After.

JACKfm Breakfast with Matt Richardson will air weekdays from 7am ‘til 10am from Monday 13th March.
