Interview: Rarely Asked Questions, Laura Riseborough, Vault Festival
What do your parents think of your job?

My Mum is a big 'House of Games' stan, so she's delighted when she knows i'm working with an H.O.G. alumnus. I also perform a lot with the Free Association, so when I talk about the FA, I think my Dad might actually think I'm doing comedy at the football.

What’s the worst thing about being a comedian?

The lack of fancy dressing rooms. You wouldn't catch an opera singer changing her tights in the toilets of Soho.

I think you are very good at what you do (at least I hope you are, that’s why I’m asking these questions). What do you think of you?

Wow, what a question .... are you trying to do therapy on me Bruce? Are you trying to trick me into talking about self-worth?
Do you want to see me CRY Bruce? IS THAT WHAT YOU WANT??
I think Laura is trying her best.

How much do you earn and how much would you like to earn?

What a rude question.
I would like to earn enough to buy a theatre when I retire. Or enough to buy Patricia Routledge.

Alan Davies has said that comedians fall into two categories - golfers and self-harmers. The former just get on with life, the latter are tortured artists. Which are you – or do you think you fit into third category?

I like Alan's hair, but I don't agree with this theory.

Who is your favourite person ever and why – not including family or friends or other comedians?

Maggie Smith. Does everyone answer Maggie Smith? They should.

Do you keep your drawers tidy and if not why not? (please think long and hard about this question, it's to settle an argument with my girlfriend. The future of our relationship could depend on your response).

The inside of my clothes draws are categorised and colour-coded. I've started ironing my pyjamas too, that's who I've become! "
