Comedian James Acaster has been cast in the latest Ghostbusters film.

According to reports he will appear alongside Kumail Nanjiani, Patton Oswalt and Emily Alyn Lind in the sequel to Ghostbusters: Afterlife, to be directed by Gil Kenan. 

Stars of the previous film Paul Rudd and Carrie Coon will return and the film will be set in New York City.

Jason Reitman will be writer-producer alongside Kenan and Jason Blumenfeld.

It's a busy time for the acclaimed Kettering-born stand-up comedian who is also famous for his Off Menu podcast with Ed Gamble. He is soon to release his Temps music collective album Party Gator Purgatory and will be talking about it at the Latitude festival in July. He has also just announced a tour that will take him around the UK later this year. Date and details here.

It has not been revealed what part Acaster will play in the movie.
