Comedian Joe Lycett will be inviting more famous faces to his brand-new Channel 4 show, Late Night Lycett on at 10pm this Friday. Joe will be joined by actor and writer Daisy May Cooper, actor David Harewood, presenters Rylan Clark and Greg James, plus comedian Katherine Ryan, who has been invited back for episode two. Katherine unfortunately missed her chance to be interviewed in Friday’s episode, as the canal boat she was on became unmoored, leading to her floating down Digbeth Branch Canal.
Shot on the banks of Birmingham’s canals, the series will bring a touch of showbiz sparkle to Digbeth in a big night of unmissable entertainment.
Each Friday Joe will celebrate the week gone by with his own signature style of comedy, as he looks at the biggest news stories, ropes his guests into games and sketches and offers audience members the chance to win some of Joe’s own possessions, including his Lexus Hybrid car.
Joe previously said: “I’m absolutely psyched and naturally very nervous about hosting a weekly live show from Birmingham, but it has been a dream of mine for many years and I look forward to some (controlled) late night chaos”.
Late Night Lycett drew widespread praise when it launched last Friday night, with more than a million viewers tuning in as Joe was joined by Dame Joanna Lumley, Alan Carr, Alison Hammond, Joe’s aunties’ Pauline and Margaret, and a collection of Brummie local legends and LGBTQ+ heroes in the studio, whilst Claire Sweeney became shopkeeper for the night as she did a shift in Joe’s local corner shop.
Late Night Lycett, Friday, April 7, 10pm, C4.
