Chatabix Podcast Signs Deal With Keep It Light Media

Hit podcast Chatabix is back for a new season having signed to major podcast production company Keep It Light Media and lined up guests including Connor Swindells (Barbie Movie), Katherine Ryan, Thomas Turgoose, Russell Tovey and Tommy Cannon. Presenters Joe Wilkinson and David Earl will also interview sporting legends Tracey Edwards, skipper of the Maiden (the first all-female crew to sail around the world) and Olympic cyclist Sir Chris Hoy.

Chatabix is a daily podcast which takes a nonsensical meander through Wilkinson and Earl’s daily lives punctuated with observational comedy moments and celebrity guests. They sometimes take the Pod out of the studio and ‘live’ record their exciting adventures. Last summer Chatabix unbelievably knocked The Rest Is Politics off the no. 1 spot in the Apple Podcast Charts.

The duo are also thrilled to be bringing back their popular Canal Thursday saga which sees well known comedians (Julia Davis, Seb Cardinal, Colin Hoult and others to be announced)  join them on the pod for some comedy improv about living on a fictional canal boat.

Other highlights of the new series include a week at the Crucible Theatre podding from the World Snooker Championships, sponsoring a football team and waving off the iconic Maiden yacht as she sails again in the 2023 Ocean Global Race. And David attempts to do the Park Run...

Joe Wilkinson says: "Over the moon that Chatabix will be joining Keep It Light. Really look forward to working with them, hope we don’t do their heads in too much. Got lots of fun stuff and super little guests in the new series. We get the VIP treatment at the snooker world championships, unbelievable!."

David Earl says:“Keep It Light really really really love Chatabix. They think we're really brilliant at podcasting and are very keen to support us going forward. Also, they've yet to listen to one episode of our back catalogue cos they can't be arsed. Highlight for me this series is eating brie with Jimmy White at the Century Club."

Keep It Light Media Creative Director Michael Marden says: Were delighted to welcome David and Joe and the brilliant Chatabix podcast to the Keep It Light network. Were huge fans of the show and both their work and its a perfect fit for the network. Theyve done an incredible job building a loyal fanbase for the show and were excited to work with them to expand on those foundations and take it to the next level. We wont rest until Canal Thursdays is the biggest feature in British Broadcasting history.”

Keep It Light Media was founded in 2019 by Michael Marden and Josh Widdicombe.

Over the past four years they have grown into the biggest comedy podcast network in the UK - home to chart topping shows such as Rob Beckett and Josh Widdicombes Parenting Hell, Wolf and Owl with Romesh Ranganathan and Tom Davis, and Alan Carr: Lifes a Beach. They also produce and distribute hit shows such as Gig Pigs with Ivo Graham and Alex Kealy, Whats Upset You Now? With Seann Walsh and Paul McCaffrey and Like Minded Friends with Tom Allen and Suzi Ruffell.

Joe Wilkinson is best known for his appearances on 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, Afterlife, Him & Her and his own sitcom (co-written with Earl) The Cockfields.

David Earl has appeared in Afterlife, Derek and more recently his own award-winning film Brian & Charles which stole the nation’s heart and won the Sundance Film Festival Audience Award.
