BBC Bigfoot Film For Anna Thomas

BBC Bigfoot Film For Anna Thomas
Anna Thomas’ debut film Lady Bigfoot is set to air on the BBC.

The short film is about a lonely bigfoot is living a secret existence in a Welsh woodland.  She takes a shine to the caring local park keeper but when she confides to her best friend Carol, she’s warned that her activities haven’t gone unnoticed by an obsessive crypto-zoologist who is determined to prove her existence.

Lady Bigfoot also has discussions with the squirrels, enjoys spiders in her ears, and has an obsession with the local worms - it’s no surprise that Anna has been described as a “Feral Beatrix Potter”.

The film also stars Thomas, the BBC New Comedian of The Year in 2021, alongside Jo Enright, Matt Rees and Jimmy Johnson.

The producers are Sarah Breese and Dan Thomas for Beastly Media.

Anna says: “I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to BBC Wales, Beastly Media, and the entire production team of Lady Bigfoot for their incredible trust and hard work. I feel so blooming fortunate to have been given the opportunity to make this film - it was my first attempt at writing a film script, and one of my first times doing 'proper' acting, so it was all a bit of a surreal experience. However, I feel so lucky to have had the opportunity to work with such a talented team of people, and I learned so, so much in the process of making Lady Bigfoot.

When Beastly asked if I had any character ideas and I suggested a Welsh Bigfoot, I honestly thought they’d roll their eyes and print off my email just so that they could bin it, but thank goodness they liked the idea and embraced it.”

Lady Bigfoot is on BBC1 Wales at 10.40pm on 4th July and will be available on iPlayer on the same day.
