What do your parents/children (delete as applicable) think of your job?
I don’t have kids but I am a nanny. I overheard my kid in the playground say: “Well my nanny has 3 jobs! She’s a cleaner, my nanny and a SUPERSTAR!”
Disclaimer he has never seen me perform but I love the message he’s spreading.
What’s the worst thing about being a comedian?
Pretending to laugh at other comedians' jokes.
Honestly the amount of money I'm going to have to spend on plastic surgery because I've got deep wrinkles from all the fake laughing.
I better be able to claim the money back on expenses.
I think you are very good at what you do (that’s why I’m asking these questions). What do you think of you?
I think im a cross between Robin Williams, Britney Spears and Kim Kardashian.
Britney inspired the pop star vibes
Robin Williams inspired the multi-character comedy
Kim inspired my sex tape. Sadly you don't see this in the show.
How much do you earn and how much would you like to earn?
It's disgusting how little performers get paid. Eventually I'm going to do the big reveal, the big breakdown of how much we all get but right now it's not good for my career to be so transparent. It's coming though and the venues, promoters and bookers should be afraid.
How important is luck in terms of career success – have you had lucky breaks?
My dad always told me “the harder you work the luckier you’ll get”. So I believe you create your own luck.
Alan Davies has said that comedians fall into two categories - golfers and self-harmers. The former just get on with life, the latter are tortured artists. Which are you – or do you think you fit into third category?
I'm probably a golfer . I can’t be arsed to bitch and moan about the unfairness of showbusiness. And I've been captured by the green eyed monster too many times. So now I have a “let's just get on with it” attitude.
I’ll get to a gig after my nanny and cleaning shifts and be completely exhausted but I dig deep and find the energy to throw myself into a performance (that I’m not getting paid for) but I do it because if I don’t, then I'm just sitting at home not pursuing my dream and that makes me feel sad.
Of course it's hard , but nothing is impossible and I really believe you shouldn't let anyone tell you that you don’t deserve what you want. Just go for it. All of us should go for it.
Who is your favourite person ever and why – not including family or friends or other comedians?
The strangers that I meet in the smoker areas at raves and the girls I meet in the toilet cubicles when I'm clubbing. They become your best friends. Everyone shares secrets, gossip and laughter. You’ll never see them again but for that moment you’ve known them your whole life. You trust them, you need them, it’s a moment. It's a vibe.
Do you keep your drawers tidy and if not why not? (please think long and hard about this question, it's to settle an argument with my girlfriend. The future of our relationship could depend on your response).
My mum used to call her cabinets “the out of control drawers” so I always assumed that all drawers are filled with random shit. I think it's weird when anything is really heavily organized, like get a life?
