Darcie Silver, a well-known comedian on the UK circuit, has died.
The Kamol Hospital, an aesthetic and gender confirmation surgery centre in Bangkok, where Silver had worked, posted the following announcement:
"We at Kamol Hospital, are sad to announce the sudden passing of our much loved Darcy Silver.
Darcy was not only our employee but also a friend, a sister, a person of great sympathy, dedication and passion.
She was very fond of Thai culture, and most of her escapes from working life, were devoted to prayer in Thai temples, which is why her funeral will be celebrated according to Thai tradition.
Darcy will be missed dearly, but we're sure she's now in an equally beautiful and loving place.
Fly happy Darcy, it was a pleasure to meet you and thank you for helping so many people make their dream come true.
R.I.P."
Silver (pictured) had stopped performing, but in 2019 took a show to the Edinburgh Fringe entitled I Know You Are and appeared in the LGBT+ New Comedian Of The Year Final.
In recent weeks there have been a number of notable comedy industry deaths. Performer Alex Maureen has also died and producer Lydia Mason, who worked regularly with the Laughing Horse Free Festival, has also passed away.
